A LoRa® sensor can operate for up to 10 years without any maintenance. The nodes in a LoRaWAN™ network communicate when they have data ready to send whether event-driven or scheduled. Untethering devices from a power supply allows for greater freedom in terms of deployment locations.
A LoRa® device can send and receive message to and from the LoRaWAN™ gateway. To enable a 2-way communication, the device remains online for a certain amount of time depending on their device class (A/B/C) after sending data can thus receive answers.
The advantage of LoRa® is in the technology’s long range capability. The cell radii range from 2-5 km in urban areas to 15 km in rural areas.
Cost and energy-
The narrow bandwidth allows for energy-efficient transmission of low data rates over long ranges enabling cost-effective IoT applications.
The LoRaWAN™ specification is defined by the LoRa Alliance™ and is publicly available. The LoRa AllianceTM is an open, non-profit association initiated by industry leaders with a broad ecosystem of IoT applications and existing LoRa® networks.
The collaboration of three domestic companies with great expertise in their respective field ensures the quality and reliability of the services offered by SENS.
